De Windows 10-jubileumupdate wordt opnieuw uitgevoerd: als u een HP-computer hebt en de harde schijf wilt coderen, moet u opnieuw nadenken. De jubileumupdate heeft nieuwe handtekeningverificatievereisten geïntroduceerd die niet compatibel zijn met HP Drive Encryption (HPDE) en ernstige problemen kunnen veroorzaken op de computers van gebruikers.

HP Drive Encryption is een handig beveiligingshulpprogramma waarmee HP-computereigenaren gegevens kunnen beschermen door de harde schijf te coderen. HPDE is volledig compatibel met de Windows 10-versies die vóór de Jubileumupdate zijn uitgebracht, maar als u dit hulpprogramma gebruikt na een nieuwe installatie van het nieuwste besturingssysteem van Microsoft, kunnen de volgende problemen optreden:

• De computer reageert niet meer (loopt vast) met een zwart scherm.
• De computer wordt niet afgesloten of opnieuw opgestart.
• Als snel opstarten is ingeschakeld, wordt de computer niet uitgeschakeld.
• Het systeemlogboek geeft volmgr-fout-ID 45 en 46 weer.
• Als Snel opstarten is uitgeschakeld, wordt de computer niet in een energiebesparende stand gezet (S3, S4, enz.).
• Als bitlocker-codering is ingeschakeld, schakelt de computer niet over naar een verminderde energiestatus (S3, S4, enz.).

De enige manier om dergelijke problemen te voorkomen, is om HPDE niet te installeren na een nieuwe installatie van de Jubileumupdate. HP heeft ook bevestigd dat het geen HPDE-ondersteuning biedt voor de Jubileumupdate of hoger, en beveelt BitLocker aan als alternatieve coderingsoplossing.
